Little Women, Merle Haggard, and a Scratchy Cotton Christmas Scarf…

This blog is dedicated to everyone who is missing a loved one at Christmas. My dad has been gone for 27 years and I still miss him every single day. The holidays seem to magnify his absence.

The first Christmas without Dad, my second son had just been born, and I was on an emotional roller coaster. Tired. Broken. Sad. And carrying around that extra baby weight. I was exhausted, and all I wanted for Christmas was a piece of my dad. A gift he might have bought early (which wasn’t at all like him), a note we might find, an old photo. Anything. Anything at all that might help me feel his presence. A reminder that even though he wasn’t with us physically, that he would never, ever leave our hearts.

This is my story about a very special Christmas prayer, and the unexpected answer I received Christmas morning…

(I apologize for the less than professional photos of the pages from my book. It was the easiest way to upload the chapter) I know I continue to impress you! HA!

(I have also recorded this story on my podcast)

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! Thanks for being a part of my journey and for traveling with me every step of the way.

I am truly blessed…
